Panel discussion at Plug In ICA

Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art is pleased to present a public conversation on Saturday, March 8th at 1:00PM in room 3BC55 in the Buhler Centre. In a panel discussion moderated by Oliver Botar, curator of Sensing the Future: Moholy-Nagy, Media and the Arts, academics Hattula Moholy-Nagy, Annemarie Jaeggi, and Andreas Hug will discuss Hungarian artist Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, whose innovative and prescient work in the fields of photography, film, typography, sculpture, painting, printmaking, and industrial design has considerable impact today. The event is free and all are welcome to attend.
The panel discussion will be followed by a talk entitled “Building the Bauhaus Archive: From Gropius to SANAA” by Annemarie Jaeggi, introduced by Ralph Stern, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Manitoba.
Dr. Annemarie Jaeggi has been Director of the Bauhaus Archive / Museum of Design, Berlin since 2003. After completing her studies in Zurich and Freiburg and subsequently gaining a doctorate, US-born Jaeggi became an assistant at the Institute for Art History at the University of Karlsruhe. She followed her habilitation with various professor substitutions. Now, in addition to her work at the Bauhaus Archive, Jaeggi acts as an assistant lecturer at Berlin institute of Technology and lectures at Accademia di Architettura in Lugano/Mendrisio. Her commitment to the field also includes membership to various committees as well as several contributions to academic literature on the subject.
