Artist talk with Alexander Pilis

Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art’s Summer Institute is pleased to present a “Architecture Parallax: Crime Stories” talk by artist Alexander Pilis Wednesday, July 25th at 7 pm. The talk is free. Everyone is welcome.

Alexander Pilis is a theoretical architect, artist and curator based in Barcelona. Born in Rio de Janeiro and lived in Canada from 1974 to 1997. Pilis is founder of Archimemoria, www.architecture-parallax.net and theblindarchitect.com non-profit organizations established to engage theoretical collisions in architecture, art, science and perception. Pilis is now developing a feature film entitled The Blind Architect. He has taught at Univ. of Toronto; Architecture and Fine Art Departments from 1983 to 1995, Mecad- New Media Sabadell, 2000 and Elisava Pompeu Favro master architecture programme, Barcelona 2001-05. Pilis has delivered lectures and organized-constructed exhibitions, workshops and symposiums in various museums, architecture and art schools in Canada, Brazil, Germany, Spain and the UK.
