Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art is organizing another experimental hybrid between exhibition and fundraiser this spring, asking artists from across Canada and around the world to re-imagine their domestic surroundings for the exhibition Dream House 2009.

Artists have contributed a new or existing work, in various media, exploring domestic environments. Artists include: Kim Adams, Daniel Barrow, Kevin Ei-Ichi DeForest, Michael Dumontier, Aganetha & Richard Dyck, Cliff Eyland, Harrell Fletcher, Arni Haraldsson, Simon Hughes, Sarah Anne Johnson, Matthew Kroeker, Divya Mehra, Meera Margaret Singh, Craig Alun Smith, Lisa Stinner, Kyohei Sakaguchi, Tim Schouten, Patrick Traer, T & T (Tyler Brett and Tony Romano), and spmb (Eduardo Aquino & Karen Shanski).

Online bidding ends Saturday, March 7 at noon CST, with the highest online bid becoming the opening bid for the live auction that evening. The final, live auction will be at at Plug In ICA (286 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Canada) at 8 pm CST on Saturday, March 7, 2009.
Out of town bidders may bid by phone during the live auction (204) 942-1043. To avoid disappointment please contact the gallery before the live auction begins to be assigned a proxy bidder who will bid on your behalf.

Funds raised will support Plug In ICA’s programs and the artists. As Plug In looks to expand its facilities and programs, creating a residency program, and expanding research, education, and publication efforts, this exhibition takes place at a crucial point in the ICA’s over 30 year history.
