GROBARI by Aleksandra Domanovic

December 10, 2015 to January 3, 2016

In conjunction with the current solo exhibition Mother of This Domain by Aleksandra Domanović, and as part of our public programs, we are offering GROBARI on our website, free to download and make yourself.

GROBARI is part of Domanović’s Paper Stacks series, which are artworks constructed with thousands of sheets of office paper. By utilizing the “borderless” function of a standard inkjet printer she has produced meter high monuments with images formed on the edges. The Paper Stacks exist in two forms, as gallery based sculptural objects but also as distributable, downloadable, printable, and recyclable PDFs.

Plug In ICA is offering GROBARI on our website. Free to download and print to anyone with an inkjet printer. We made this one. Please follow the link to see the video.

GROBARI is emblematic of the three Paper Stacks currently on exhibition at Plug In ICA in that it uses images collected from the Web of flares fired by extremist football fans in the former Yugoslavia. Domanović states “the images were chosen as emblems of the continuing violence of a former country.”
