Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art is pleased to present:

Prairie Art Book Fair 2024

September 13 – 15, 2024

Call for Exhibitors | Applications due March 8, 2024

Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art is very delighted to announce the fourth iteration of our Prairie Art Book Fair from Friday, September 13 to Sunday, September 15 in the Plug In ICA galleries. We are currently seeking interested exhibitors—locally, internationally—to participate in this year’s fair.

In recognition of the continued symbiotic relationship between contemporary art and publishing, our book fair was launched in 2018. The biennial fair began with a focus on the prairies and has since expanded its scope beyond this region. PABF is now open to applicants nationally and internationally. This book fair provides a context for publishers and artists to distribute their work, connect with prairie audiences, learn, and cultivate new relationships.  The fair showcases publications and programming events from publishers, artists, and galleries and aims to share zines, catalogs, artist editions, fiction, poetry, criticism, and periodicals and support readings, launches, and workshops.

We strongly encourage applications from BIPOC community members, as well as 2SLGBTQIA+ folks and people facing accessibility challenges.

Exhibitor applications are due March 8th, 2024.

Only successful applicants will be notified after the closing date. If you are interested in renting a table or organizing an event in conjunction with the fair please fill out our online application form below.

Please note that exhibitors will be expected to be available for set up and take down and staff their table throughout the weekend.

Inquiries can be addressed to Luther Konadu at luther@plugin.org.

The Prairie Art Book Fair logos were designed by Michael Dumontier + Neil Farber in 2018.
