Prairie Art Book Fair books dancing back and forth

Carnation | Self Publishing Workshop

Saturday, September 12, 2020 | 2 pm CT

As part of the Prairie Art Book Fair Plug In ICA is pleased to present an online self publishing workshop with Carnation. Learn about zine culture and how to self-publish personal or compilation print or online media. We’ll be looking at zines, discussing tools for creation, doing brief demonstrations, and answering your DIY questions.

Carnation is a submission-based zine that publishes art and writing created through a lens of diaspora and displacement by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of colour). Carnation is co-founded, edited, and designed by Christina Hajjar, Luther Konadu, and Mariana Muñoz Gomez. They are based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba on Treaty 1 Territory and the Homeland of the Métis Nation. Learn more at carnationzine.wordpress.com and @carnationzine

If you wish to participate in this workshop please email info@plugin.org to register. Participants will be selected on a first come first serve basis.
